Garden Maintenance
At AF Complex Management we provide the following regular garden maintenance service as the norm to all our clients.
However, each of our clients has their own specific garden maintenance requirements, and we are flexible enough to adjust the services accordingly, therefore we can add some of the optional and additional garden services, until the client’s specific requirements is met.
The client also has the choice of permanent gardeners, or having their valuable property serviced by a roving gardening team.
The following services are included in the monthly retainer:
Individual gardens:
Weekly cutting of lawn areas. Except during Winter period when the lawns will be cut 1 x every 2 x weeks. (Lawn will only be cut when the grass is reasonable dry, except when continual rain necessitates the cutting of wet grass. Rain may delay cutting schedules)
Weekly trimming of flowerbed edges.
Weekly turning of flowerbeds on request.
Weekly - weed control in lawn and flowerbeds on request.
Trimming of shrubs on request.
Sweeping of patio areas affected by grass cutting – no garden furniture will be moved.
Watering of the internal gardens 1 x week.
Common gardens:
Weekly cutting of the lawn areas. Except during Winter period when the lawns will be cut 1 x every 2 x weeks. (Lawn will only be cut when the grass is reasonable dry, except when continual rain necessitates the cutting of wet grass. Rain may delay cutting schedules)
Trimming of flowerbed edges.
Original lines of planting beds will be maintained. Tree bowls will be maintained to a uniform standard, circular, square, etc.
Turning of flowerbeds. Utmost care will be taken to avoid damage to plants and plant roots during this process.
Dead heading flowers and lopping of dead leaves.
Natural mulch layers will be encouraged as part of a sound horticultural process.
Trimming of shrubs and trees. A&F will identify which plants require pruning and determine when this is to be done to the best advantage of the plant, not only to achieve aesthetic appeal, but also to realize the long term growth potential, development and ultimate shape of the plant
Once a year AF will carry out selective thinning and pruning throughout the site. This operation will be undertaken from July to September.
Weed control in flowerbeds and lawn surfaces. A&F will determine the most effective method of weed eradication and remove weeds. AF will ensure that when choosing chemical weedicides that no long term soil imbalances is created as a result of indiscriminate use of weedicides. Herbicides will be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction and carried out by a suitable qualified person.
Tree stakes will be checked monthly, and where necessary firmed in soil and retied. Should the stake need to be replaced with a larger stake, the cost of this stake will be for the clients account
Sweeping of paved areas.
Watering of lawn and flowerbed areas.
Scarifying (de-thatching) of lawns will be carried out using a normal lawnmower by setting the blades low. This will be done in September
Aerating of lawns will be done in September.
General:
Plants that die out are replanted (Cost of replacement plants for the Client's account, no additional labour charge
Roses will be pruned from mid July to end August
The Client will remain responsible for the following tools and materials:
Brooms both soft and hard
Cleaning consumables.
Electrical consumables.
Pool consumables.
Pesticides, herbicides, weedicides
Ladders.
Wheel barrows.
Plastic Rakes
Tree stakes
The Contractor remains responsible for the following:
Lawn mower incl petrol.
Edge trimmer including nylon trimming line.
Hedge trimmer (Petrol).
Hand clippers.
Hedge clippers.
Garden forks.
Garden spades.
Loppers.
Bow Saw.
Pick.
Hosepipes and fittings.
Refuse removal:
The cost for the removal of the garden refuse will be for the cost of the Client.
